Sweet zombie jesus, that was fun.
So, Saturday evening, we threw an Alice-themed Prom for catvalente (for her birthday, somewhat time-shifted forward)! This was the first prom she's ever been to, and as it turned out, same was true for Gini and Cassandra.
As scary as it is for somebody socially shy like myself to help plan and set up one of these things, lemme tell you: if yer gonna have a prom, that was the way to do it, with a bunch of your friends, alcohol (from good wine to Popov-spiked punch), wicked gleeful nostalgic cheesy music, and everybody dancing their hearts out. I loved it!
As Ferrett describes it, the location really came together and made all the difference -- the fabulous Staibs let us use the main hall in the coach house (and there was even a pool/hot tub for after-prom).
And no, people, I was not that sloshed -- that's how I usually dance!
Ok, pictures -- now keep in mind, my camera's old, and my photography skills highly questionable.
(Go to my Flickr stream to see the rest of the pictures -- s' too much work to link to them all).
At this point, I foolishly ran out of battery on my camera. Not pictured:
* catvalente elected Prom Queen, with tiara and acceptance speech (world peace, etc)
* gieves (beautiful dress, absolutely stunning necklace)
* Ryan & Cassandra's couple shot
* Several individual full shots
* People seriously rocking out to Numa Numa, Ice Ice Baby, etc, etc.
Also, I hear gieves will have more pictures up sometime soon!
